It features a U-shaped slot-type IR emitter and receiver pair , which detects objects passing through the slot by interrupting the infrared beam. When an object passes through, the module generates a digital pulse output that can be counted to measure rotational speed (RPM) or linear movement . Compatible with Arduino, AVR, PIC, ESP32 , and other microcontrollers, this module is ideal for building tachometers, encoder wheels, and motor control systems .
